OUR QUALITY STANDARDS

The quality of product documentation and product literature such as service manuals, operator's manuals, or instruction manuals is a reflection of the quality of the product itself. Potential customers often form an opinion of the product by the accompanying product literature. Competent and commanding use of the language is an essential element of the overall product quality and should not be underestimated.

Access Translations assures the quality of its translations by applying the quality assurance and project management principles of ISO 9001and of the American Project Management Institute.

At Access Translations, all translations are reviewed by an independent proofreader/editor and native speaker of the target language to ensure that the translation reads as if it were originally written in the target language. Not only will you be receiving quality translations, but you will receive them without grammar errors, spelling errors, faulty usage, or misplaced commas.

To provide you with a perspective of our quality, Access Translations has a long-standing policy of providing a free sample translation of your text before you place an order. 

What About Machine Translation (MT) software?

If you receive a quote for a translation that is too good to be true, chances are you are probably getting a translation that is generated by software that is often found on the Internet or sold in the form of software packages.

Relying on software to accurately translate your document can have embarrassing, inept, and/or disastrous results.

Under no circumstances will we subscribe to machine translation software. This technology may be sufficient for simple texts and may be appropriate in circumstances in which only a minimum amount of information is to be gleaned from the text. However, for documents that require detailed, accurate translations, currently-available MT (machine translation) software is clearly insufficient. Computers have a very limited capability of understanding meaning. General Motors and Caterpillar have both tried to develop machine translation systems for their automotive service literature. Caterpillar today makes very limited use of it and GM abandoned the effort altogether because it just does not work.
